Cassette to mp3 converter5/29/2023 It's up to you if it's acceptable or not. With poorer-quality cards, this will might have a bit of crosstalk. Since the tapes are mono, it would be almost trivial (with sox and a lot of scratch space, named pipes in real-time, or what have you) to record two at once, using the left and right channels of just one sound card. It'd be possible to save more time using multiple sound cards and tape decks, given some good organizational tactics. If the computer put up to the task isn't very fast, avoid VBR and other CPU-robbing features in the MP3 encoder to make sure that things don't get backlogged waiting to encode. This multitasking will allow the tape machine to stay busy. For example, if you record double-speed audio at 48KHz, tell the encoder that the file is 24KHz.Įncode the previous tape while you're recording the next. Next, lie to your MP3 encoder about the sampling rate - divide it by the playback speed. Any of these should be sufficient, with 96KHz being overkill for this application. Record at 44.1, 48, 96KHz, or whatever sampling rate floats your boat. IIRC, these can operate at 4x normal playback speed. These will have 1 playback compartment, and a number (from two to lots) of record wells. Tascam and others make decks intended for mass-duplication of cassettes. A machine already designed for high-speed dubbing would be ideal, as it makes the mods easier (just trick it into thinking a tape is present in the record well) and they sometimes have heads designed for playing very high-frequency sounds. I'll use this as a baseline for intelligibility, and thus assert that 4x playback would be fine on all but the rattiest tape machines.Īny good service tech will be able to modify a cheap tape deck to play at high-speed. I don't have much trouble understanding people on the phone. That said, Ma Bell doesn't think there's any useful information in the human voice outside of the band of 300-3,000Hz, so they limit telephone calls to these constraints. These things don't deal with high frequencies very well at normal playback speeds - let alone after frequencies double or quadruple with tape speed. The most unavoidable loss with high-speed playback of cassettes is that introduced by the tape deck's playback head. Alas, you failed to mention any budget or quality concerns. Since there are such huge quantities of material, I can only assume that quality is of little importance, as long as the end result is plain and intelligible. you could even use a network share and write a script to encode when a file isnt written to anymore.Įven better yet, find one big lecture class, and pass them out as extra credit, for anyone who'll rip them. as for the encoding, use some mass encoder. bind this to 4 keys, and you'll easily be able to control 4 streams.Īssuming that you have a thousand tapes, thats about 40 days worth of playtime, and so this method should take 1/4 to 1 day to complete the ripping. Or, you could set up a macro program, and bind one key to save an existing wave file, and open a new one. I recall either a built-in feature or some plugin that allows you to split a wave file into segments based on noise thresholds, just set this to maybe 30 seconds of silence to split the tracks up. make them listen continuously, each computer writing one big file for each stream.įind yourself 40 tape decks, and either use them at normal 1x speed, or use the above solution for cutting your sample rate in four to accomodate a 4x playback. now, run 4 copies of soundforge on each computer, each one listening to a different sound input channel. set up maybe 10 of them, each with 4 soundcards. To check your recording's quality I'd recommand baudline () maybe there are encoders that have an equalizer simmilar to the mp3-players? you may have to compensate these with some filters. Of course this totally ignores any frequency dependant effects in the path from the magnetic media to your computer. If it works out halfway useable then you could try and get one of those 96kHz/24Bit-soundcards, that should yield about 12kHz Bandwidth (96kHz recording, 24kHz encoding -> 12kHz BW) which should be more than what you could expect from a normal analog audio-tape. Of course that would limit your Bandwidth to about 5000 Hz but I'd give that method a try to check the feasibilty of that method. Now the encoded mp3 should have the correct speed and frequency again. wav file at 44100 Samples/sec and then encode it with your favourite mp3-encoder telling him that you have a 11025-Samples/sec (=44k1/4)recording. Then just grab the signal from the playback-deck and feed it in your soundcard. Then lets assume that your fast-dubbing-tapedeck runs at four times the normal speed. Let me assume that those lectures are not hi-fi recordings and as such you could live with half or a quarter of the audio-bandwidth of your soundcard.

Clear todos5/29/2023 Here’s just some of the nice things that the press have written about Clear: Since its launch in January 2012 Clear has won numerous awards and continues to receive critical acclaim. Syncs with Clear for Mac (available separately on the Mac App Store) One universal download for iPhone, iPad and now Apple Watch! Personalise your Clear lists with themes and make them your own. Set reminders so you’ll never forget important tasks. iCloud sync built-in so you can be productive everywhere. Use separate lists to organise every aspect of your life. Simple gesture-based design that allows you to focus on your to-dos. It’s as easy to use as pen and paper, and once you start organising your life with Clear you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. (Remember we are interacting with our table via our model - Todo) -> Pass these to our view ( 2.5 million people de-clutter their lives with Clear, so stop stalling and start organising your daily routine.Ĭlear is the revolutionary to-do and reminders app that makes you more productive. What this code does is -> Get all the data in the todos table. Write a function that will handle showing a list of all todos you’ve created. The term ‘index’ is a method which we will create in the TodoController class which will help us display the list of todos A controller will be created under app/Http/Controllers.Php artisan make:controller TodoController This controller handles the logic behind our todos application This is where controller comes into place.Ĭontroller lets you segment the logic behind a routes file into a single class.įor example, a UserController class might handle all incoming requests related to users, including showing, creating, updating, and deleting users. Now imagine you had a complex logic which is to be implemented when a user visits that page, writing a function over and over again can make the routes file messy. Go to your browser, you should see the dummy todo lists view we created earlier.ĭoing it this way is ok.In the function declaration block, change welcome to index. Now, we want to show a list of todos in our home page. If you go to your browser and run todo.test -> You should get an error - Because we earlier deleted the file. Execute a function - This function returns a view which mostly will reside in the resources/views directory. When a user makes a get request through the browser by visiting the root directory / (in our case todo.test).Okay, see it as place where all the logic behind all the ‘ urls’ accessed on your website is handled.įor example - On our app - If someone visited todo.test (What should happen?, What view should be displayed?, What logic should be executed?)Īll these questions are handled in the routes/web.php fileįrom fig a above what that code simply means is this -> Now what is this file? -> It is a file that defines routes that are for your web interface. In this case, we will need to communicate with our database and write some codes in our controller with our database in mind. E.g we wanted to show a list of photos uploaded by all users in a website. Great! What if we wanted to show dynamic items gotten from the database?. So, we’ve shown the Google logo and the search field. All views in Laravel are placed in the resources/views directory In our controller, we will declare a method to return a View which contains the logo and search field.

Rich snippets5/29/2023 There's nothing unique about the text above compared to any other paragraph in this article. See those tags at the beginning and end of the copy, above? This denotes text that is in standard paragraph style. I'm on the marketing team at HubSpot, an all-in-one marketing software company in Cambridge, MA. My name is Diana Urban, and I was born and raised in New York. Here's an example block of HTML showing some basic information about me - the author of this article - below. Microdata wraps your text in very simple HTML tags, such as or tags, to assign descriptive terms to each bit of information. You can then use a bit of code to basically tell Google, "Here's my event and the most important information people would need to know about it." How Microdata Can Be Used An event, for example, has all sorts of information associated with it, including the venue, starting time, name, and category. Microdata is a way to label content to describe what this content represents. Create microdata for your webpage using your selected data type. (Note: To use this tool, you'll publish your content first, and then retrieve the URL so you can structure your data accordingly.) 3. Then, at the bottom of this page, enter the existing URL of the webpage to which your content has been published. Use it here, and see it below.Īs you can see, above, you'll start by selecting the attribute that best describes the content you're creating. It's called the Structured Data Markup Helper. To properly communicate this information to Google, the company offers a handy tool for creating structured datasets based on the type of webpage you're publishing. So, how do you create the tags listed above? Unfortunately, it's not as easy as writing "Here's the product's price" in your webpage's HTML and expecting Google to take the hint. Define your webpage using Google's Structured Data Markup Helper. Recipe: You can add tags for recipe rating, ingredients, image of final product, cooking duration, total calories, and more.Ģ.Event page: You can add tags for the event name, event speakers, event schedule, event dates, and more.Product page: You can add tags for product names, product ratings, product prices, product availability, product images, and more. Restaurant pages: You can add tags for food items, item prices, item descriptions, item images, item calories, and more.Article: You can add tags for the article title, author, meta description, publish date, featured image, and more. Are you writing an article? An event page? A book review? A product page? Here are some examples of details included in rich snippets for the several types of snippets available to you: Your webpage's topic and format will dictate which types of information you want Google to display in its search results. Identify which details you want Google to focus on. Create microdata for your webpage using your selected data type.ġ.Define your webpage using Google's Structured Data Markup Helper.Identify which details you want Google to focus on.But giving these details special treatment can dramatically increase your chances of enhancing the appearance of your search result - and, in turn, the traffic you get from it. Keep in mind this process won't guarantee that you'll get a rich snippet. There are a few options for how to install rich snippets, but I'm going to show you the easiest method: using microdata. Adding this content-rich information to your Google search listings draws the eye and can increase your listings' click-through rates, even when you're not ranking in the #1 position. But with how complex Google search results look today, it would be worth your while to spend a little time learning how to do this. Rich snippets are often overlooked in businesses' SEO strategies because they are more difficult to implement than traditional on-page SEO. With enough structured data on the page, you can earn a rich snippet. The thinking is, the more information included in a search result's snippet, the more likely users are to click on that result. Google rich snippets - also called " rich results" - extract information from your website to display on your site's listing in the search results, in addition to the typical page title, page URL, and meta description.Įach search result is guaranteed to display these three pieces of information, making up an individual snippet. Publishers can give Google these details by including structured data in the backend of their webpages. This "rich" media can include images, ratings, authors, dates, locations, and more. Google rich snippets are enhanced search results that produce more details about a website than the average link.

Currency exchange us to slavania5/28/2023 But it will be a phenomenally uncompetitive rate so it is better to make sure that you always have euros. Some hotels may be more lenient, and some hotels may convert your US dollars there and then effectively allow you to pay in cash. Sometimes people ask if Greek businesses like hotels and tour companies will accept British pounds or US dollars and the general answer is no. Can you pay with USD in Greece? Money in Greece: Skopelos, Sporades If you try and use a €50 bill to buy something for a couple of euros, a lot of places may not be able to give you change. Try to get rid of your larger bills when you make bigger purchases at restaurants and supermarkets. It is unlikely that you will be given a higher denomination bill. When you exchange currency in Greece, try and make sure that a €50 note is the largest denomination you are given. €100 notes are rare and you are unlikely to see or receive them when withdrawing money from an ATM. You will find €2 and €1 coins as well as smaller value coins in denominations of 50 cents, 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents, and 1 cent. It is available in note denominations of €500, €100, €50, €20, €10, and €5.Įuro coins come in various denominations. The Euro is the only legal currency in Greece. It is always a good idea to have around €100 in cash on you when travelling around Greece, including small denomination notes and change. Greece is a very cash-based society and although all businesses here are required to have a POS (point of sale) device, you will note that most people prefer to be paid in cash, particularly in rural areas or small islands. This is convenient if you are visiting Greece as part of a wider Europe trip as it means that you don’t have to change currency multiple times. The euro is the legal tender in Greece and has been since the drachma was phased out in 2002. Knowing how you are going to manage your money in Greece is an important consideration for your trip.

I want to be alone alone with you5/28/2023 Or maybe you will find that while you are fond of him, you dread coming home. Maybe you will discover after a while that you miss the company of your guy. No, your husband won’t like it, but it won’t kill him (sorry), and you’re an adult who’s entitled to a lengthy, solo vacation. So pick a city you’ve always wanted to know better and stay by yourself there for two weeks, even a month. Airbnb makes it easy to try on other people’s lives. But there is a range of options that will give you more than a night or two of alone time without your having to fantasize about the death of your beloved husband. But you are mistakenly formulating your desires as a binary choice: that either you take off for the opposite coast without a return ticket, or else remain forced to putter around with your husband and dogs ad infinitum. Since you mention nothing about work duties or financial concerns, I’m going to assume you stayed home with the kids and that there’s enough money for you to easily fund your fantasy. More than that, you sound like you have the soul of a Greta Garbo and you just long to be alone. Is this impulse bizarre and unhealthy? Is it a phase I should just grit my teeth and barrel through? Is it something that will eat away at me until I get off my ass and do it? Can I do it without hurting him too much?Īfter spending your youth wiping mouths and bottoms and attending to the needs of others, I can understand your desire to experience the single girl years that you missed-or, as you note, perhaps an early taste of widowhood. I also imagine that someday I will probably be widowed and have exactly what I’m dreaming of, and at that point I’ll miss him terribly and feel foolish for wanting this now. I’ve tried to talk him into getting separate bedrooms for years, and he refuses. Part of me also feels guilty for wanting this because my husband is adamant that he wouldn’t want to be without me. I would probably want to come home after a while-a year, maybe two-but who knows? I might love living alone too much to give it up. I wish I had an excuse like a job offer or degree program far away to make such a move possible. I order room service, binge watch movies, and just revel in my solitude. I’ve been finding excuses to travel solo simply because staying by myself in a hotel is the closest thing to fulfilling my fantasy. I have no desire to find another man I just want to be alone. I wouldn’t mind if my husband and children visited, but there’s something in me that craves distance and my own space. I dream of finding a small apartment, furnishing it exactly as I want, leaving a mess when I don’t feel like cleaning up, eating whatever and whenever I want, and basically being a single girl in my 20s, minus the dating and insecurities. I have recurring fantasies of just leaving everything behind, moving to the other coast, and starting over all by myself. We’re still in love, and everything should be perfect. It’s now 25 years later and the kids are off to college, our life together is comfortable. My husband and I met very young and had kids right away. Tableplus mac 10.105/28/2023 I copied the backup to my machine (just to be sure it is not gone after the destroy in step 4): scp -P 2222. Backup databases: ssh into the vagrant machine and run this command: mysqldump -u homestead -psecret -all-databases > homestead-backup.sql.Most of the items in this list come either from the official documentation or this post. Additional explanation on some of the points can be found at the bottom of this post. Below are the steps to update the vagrant box. Today however, I had some time to take care of this update, and I wrote down the various steps for future reference. If you are like me and happy that everything is working great without the update, you probably leave this for a couple of days. Run vagrant box update to update your box’. A message in your terminal reads ‘there is an update for the laravel/homestead box. In the morning you turn on your computer, login and spin up your vagrant virtual box. Once you start updating, think about Virtual B ox also.To spare time, consider updating Vagrant. My version of Vagrant did not support this checksum type and failed comparing the checksums after the large download of the new box finished. This new version comes with a new checksum type ‘sha512’. Check your Vagrant version (vagrant -v from the terminal) and consider updating to 2.2.7 (at the time of writing). But before you continue, read this first! I just updated my homestead box again by following the steps below. To install libpng12 I followed these three steps sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linuxuprising/libpng12 Googling around I finally found the problem and a fix to it. After updating, I was running Ubuntu 20.04 and the fix for the libpng12 package as I describe below didn’t work anymore. I followed the steps in this post (see below) and got stuck with the libpng12 issue in step 12. Today I updated to Homestead version 11.0.2 and in the process, I updated both Vagrant (2.2.9) and Virtual box (6.1.12). Please note: I first tried to do this in my current database program of choice: TablePlus, but it did not want to import all the databases in a single go. This took some time as the file was rather big but in the end it worked. I opened Sequel Pro and imported the whole file homestead-backup.sql in one go. But the scp command also failed (wrong port) so I had to something else. Step 7: After the destroy command, the databases were gone again.Additionally, change the IP also in your hostfile (/etc/hosts) in order to get a correct mapping between your folders on the host computer and the Virtual Box. To overcome this error, change the IP to somewhere in this range in your Homestead.yaml file. Step 6: Running vagrant up returned an error about the Virtual Box and the IP address we are using.I think this is better than finding a specific tag: the docs state that the release branch is always stable. Step 5: I checked out the release branch of laravel/homestead as described in the Laravel docs. I did some steps a bit different then before. If download file is.torrent use uTorrent or some other torrent software to download.Today I updated to Homestead version 13.0.1 and in the process, I updated both Vagrant (2.2.19) and Virtual box (6.1.32). Warez Srbija is the new and reliable resource for direct and torrent download. Updates and fixes are released weekly, meaning there. Pilgrims religion5/28/2023 In 1607 a congregation of Separatists, seeking to escape persecution, moved from England to Holland, which was more religiously tolerant. Under English law, it was illegal for the Separatists to practice their faith outside of the Church of England. A group of these Separatists, as they were called, would later come to be known as the Pilgrims. Others, believing that the Church of England was beyond hope of reform, chose to withdraw and form their own congregations. Some Puritans chose to operate within the Church of England and work to achieve change from the inside. While all the Puritans agreed there was a need to “purify” the Church of England, they attempted to achieve this goal through different methods. They strongly disagreed with the governance and liturgy of the Church of England. A group of Protestants known as Puritans believed that the Church of England retained too many elements of the Roman Catholic Church. This compromise calmed the fires of religious conflict in England but was not acceptable to everyone. Elizabeth I redesigned the Church of England as a compromise between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism, granting it the full backing of the state. Mary’s half-sister Elizabeth I succeeded her as queen and strove to stabilize Christianity in England. However, upon his death as a teenager, he was replaced by Mary I, who brutally attempted to reestablish Catholicism as the dominant religion in England. King Edward VI, son of Henry VIII, took the side of the Protestants and continued to drive Catholicism out of England. The king’s action sparked decades of deadly conflict between Roman Catholics and Protestants. The story of the Pilgrims traces back to the decision by King Henry VIII to seize control of the English church in 1534. They established the famous Plymouth Colony upon their arrival in the New World, but their story began nearly a century earlier. The Pilgrims were Puritan Separatists from England who believed that the Church of England was hopelessly corrupt and sought the freedom to practice their religion apart from government interference. The set piece on Wounded Knee is well-done.The Pilgrims were about 100 people who arrived at Cape Cod in what is now Massachusetts in 1620 and became the first permanent European settlers in New England. Marty is quite good on native American religion, which made me wish there was more of that, and more on western/northwestern tribes. Really anything at all about smaller religious minorities, which makes sense because of scope of the book, but it still kind of disappointing. John Adams was terrified of Catholics, and his cousin Samuel even more so, to the point of like modern right wing paranoia that Catholics were hiding everywhere But in 1774, because Boston was too explosive to allow for factionalism, sober people devised a "Union Pope." For one day, at least, the two rival neighborhoods united against a Parliament they somehow linked with Catholicism." a brawl and a jovial supper always followed. In Boston, North End and South End ruffians took the day off and spent it trying to capture a papal effigy from each other. "during the annual Pope Day at Newport and Boston, crowds burned the pope in effigy. Verrazano watched natives eat his brother "corsarios luteranos" - Lutheran Pirates, Huguenots who raided Spanish colonial Florida "Peter Cartwright - a tireless circuit rider who in 1832 was to spread the word that his opponent in an Illinois legislative race, Abraham Lincoln, was an infidel - on occasion physically wrestled infidels and Baptists" Harding provided a blurb for a crazy racist/eugenics book by Dr. George Beard's theory of climate-driven anxiety (that there is a nervous belt, which North America is in, where it is neither too cold or too hot to shiver/sweat out the vibes that make us neurotic, basically) at its best contextualizing fringe experiences into the wider narrative. this gets a little drowsy in places there's really no way to make ideological squabbles among different flavors of protestantism super interesting, as intensely felt as they may have been at the time. tame if you really purport to worship a dark eminence. doesn't pretend to be all-inclusive and really doesn't speak to any non-judeochristian religions, although there is a pretty amusing short bit about anton lavey and the church of satanism at the end (one of the problems that the church of satanism encountered is that the idea of traditional worship is kind of. Really solid single-volume history of religion in america.

Download textwrangler for windows 85/28/2023 The failure of PowerTalk, and the desire of developers to have email integrated to their text editor, led to the development of Mailsmith, an email client that uses BBEdit's editor component. Throughout its history, BBEdit has supported many Apple technologies that failed to gain traction, including OpenDoc and PowerTalk. In 2005, TextWrangler 2.0 was released as freeware and subsequent versions continued to be distributed as such up until 2017, when it was sunsetted and incorporated into BBEdit. Bare Bones Software discontinued BBEdit Lite at version 6.1 and replaced it with TextWrangler, which was available for a fee, although significantly less than BBEdit. BBEdit Lite lacked plugin support, scriptability, syntax coloring and other features then deemed as mainly for advanced users. At the same time, Bare Bones Software also made a less-featured version of BBEdit 2.5 called BBEdit Lite available at no cost. BBEdit was the first freestanding text editor to use the "PE" editing engine, and is the only one still being developed.īBEdit was available at no charge upon its initial release in 1992 but was commercialized in May 1993 with the release of version 2.5. The Macintosh Pascal project was ultimately terminated, but the demonstration program was reworked to use the THINK Technologies "PE" text editing engine used for THINK C, which was much faster and could read larger files. The TextEdit control could not load files larger than 32 KB. The original prototypes of BBEdit used the TextEdit control available in versions of the classic Mac OS of the time. The first version of BBEdit was created as a "bare bones" text editor to serve as a " proof of concept" the intention was to demonstrate the programming capabilities of an experimental version of Pascal for the Macintosh. BBEdit is a proprietary text editor made by Bare Bones Software, originally developed for Macintosh System Software 6, and currently supporting macOS.
